Deals Of The Day: The Latest In Wealth Management M&A – MAI Capital Management, Court Place

MAI Capital Management, an RIA, has acquired a $366 million firm, Court Place Advisors for an undisclosed sum. Founded in 1998, Court Place is based in Ellicott City, Maryland. “As part of MAI, Court Place’s team will have access to expanded resources and technology, freeing their advisors up to deliver the personalized service and strategic guidance their clients expect while strengthening MAI’s presence in Maryland and beyond,” Rick Buoncore , chairman and chief executive, MAI, said. Court Place was co-founded by Jack Santry, who is the firm’s principal and chief compliance officer. 
Court Place will adopt MAI’s brand identity and use MAI’s infrastructure including HR, operations, and marketing resources as well as gaining access to the firm’s in-house team of more than 150 specialized experts across investment, planning and tax disciplines.
All Court Place employees will join MAI – including Santry in the role of senior wealth advisor, managing director – maintaining stability and continuity of service for their clients.
Following MAI’s recent acquisition of Evoke Advisors, Court Place is the 18th firm to join MAI since January 2024 as it expands to more than 650 employees and 35 offices across the country. Founded in 1973, MAI and its affiliates have 35 offices across the US, managing and advising on $69 billion in total assets.
